I’m not getting my SMS reminders.

Check that your phone is verified in Settings, that your subscription is active (trials pause after day 7), and that you haven’t replied STOP to a previous message. Some carriers take a minute to deliver; if it’s consistently late, email jedaws@gmail.com with your number.

I’m not getting my email reminders.

Check your spam folder. Our emails come from reminders@illprayforyou.com. Mark as “not spam” once and your inbox will learn. If you use Gmail, drag our first email to Primary.

How do I change my reminder time?

Settings → Reminder time. Pick a preset (6am / 9am / noon / 6pm / 9pm) or enter a custom hour. Your timezone controls when that fires in real time.

Can I change a request after I’ve created it?

Yes. Open the request, tap the pencil icon in the header. You can edit title, subject, details, cadence, channel, and end date any time.

What happens when I mark a prayer “answered”?

Reminders stop immediately. A celebration moment appears asking how God answered — you can share a short testimony or leave it blank. The request moves to Archive → Answered where you can revisit the verse and date any time.

How does sharing work?

Each request has a share toggle that generates a public link like illprayforyou.com/p/abc123. Anyone with the link can see the title and (optionally) the details, and commit to pray with their own cadence. They need to sign up, but no app install. You can revoke the link any time.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Settings → Manage. Opens Stripe’s billing portal where you can cancel instantly, switch between monthly and yearly, or update your card. Cancelling keeps you active through the end of the period you paid for.

Is my prayer list private?

Yes. Only you see it unless you deliberately share a specific request via link. We never sell data, show ads, or read your prayer content for any purpose other than generating your scripture pairings (which we send only the title, subject, and description to OpenAI — never your identity).

Is this specifically a Christian app?

Yes. The product is built around Christian prayer — scripture pairings come from ESV, NIV, KJV, or NKJV, and the voice of the emails, reminders, and celebration moments assumes that tradition. Prayer practices outside Christianity have their own rhythms, and we’re not trying to be a reminder app for everything.

Yes. Email jedaws@gmail.com with a short note. We offer quiet discounts for full-time ministry, students, and hardship. The app shouldn’t be gated behind means.
